Multimedia garden

This is a project for a library in Madrid. We proposed to subdivide the building into small volumes to achieve a human and accessible scale. Between the volumes there are courtyards that provide visual and climatic comfort, and become open-air rooms where library activities can expand to the outside. The building becomes a multimedia garden where plants, talents and hobbies are grown and nurtured.

スペインマドリードの地域住民のための図書館の提案。図書館を1つの大きなボリュームではなく、小さいボリュームに分割し、ヒューマンスケールな空間を実現した。多数の小さなボリュームの間は緑豊かな居心地の良い中庭となり、図書館内部の活動が中庭に広がって屋外の部屋として機能する。この図書館は、各々が知識を得、趣味を深め、季節の変化を感じ、また、利用者間の交流を促進するマルチメディアガーデンとなる。
